The Word Became Flesh

The Word became flesh.  Just think about it.  The Word, Christ Jesus, became flesh.  What are the attributes of Christ?  In the beginning of the gospel of John, we find that Christ is eternal, He is the creator, the Word, light, life, and the list could go on.  The eternal creator became flesh.

What is flesh?  What is man?  Man is not the creator.  Yet the Son of God would come to earth, the earth He created, and take on Himself the form of a man, a being which he created.  If it stopped at that, it would be more than amazing.  But it doesn’t.  Not only did Christ become flesh, he humbled Himself down to experience death.  The worst death – death on the cross.

The more I meditate on this, the more it amazes me!  He did all of this so that He could purchase with his blood people from every tribe and tongue.

Don’t stop meditating on this.  Do what John tells us to do in another of His writings:  Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us.  Behold that the Word became flesh.  Behold what was done for your justification.  Behold constantly.  As the Webster 1828 dictionary puts it, fix your eyes upon it,  see with attention, and observe with care–because this is a marvolous thing!
